Key innovative/initiatives implemented

  • The appointment of staff who have vast experience in the grain and stockfeed industry that will assist the growth of our business.
  • Additional silos have been added to increase our segregation and storage capacity.
  • Installation of aerators to silos to help maintain the hygiene and quality of the grain.
  • Installation of a vacuum system throughout the manufacturing areas to ensure plant hygiene and good manufacturing practice (GMP) is kept at the highest level at all times.
  • Purchased a new Doyle blender to ensure premixing of products is always at the highest standard possible.
  • State of the art Near Infrared Analyser (NIR) testing facilities have been purchased for use in our manufacturing and receival areas, and to offer a sample testing service to our customers.
  • Two tipping trailers have been modified to enable them to be used for shipping containers. A percentage of James Stock Feed & Fertilizer's incoming grain to the mill and out going custom mixes to Tasmania and King Island are shipped in containers. This adds versatility and security to our service that we provide to our valued customers.

Aspirations for the business

  • Actively source new markets whilst at the same time continue to provide the highest quality service to our current customers.
  • New markets and general growth of James Stock Feed & Fertilizer Pty Ltd will require additional specialised staff to be employed.
  • To be recognised as the preferred supplier of ruminant feeds to both the dairy and beef industries in Southern NSW, Victoria and Tasmania.

Community involvement

  • Sponsorship of local sporting clubs.
  • Donations to local community groups.
  • Employ staff from the local area where possible.
  • On request, assist local farmers and the community with decisions of perceived opportunities.
